IFPTI and the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) have forged a close relationship driving FSPCA Qualified Individual training in compliance with the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). Signed into law in 2011, FSMA was the most sweeping reform of U.S. food safety laws in more than 70 years. Changing the focus from reacting to food contamination to preventing contamination altogether, these initiatives represent an important strategic shift.
Recognized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), persons completingFSPCA Training receive a Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) certificate. A PCQI oversees implementation of a given facility’s food safety plan and other key responsibilities involved in complying with FSMA.
