Dan Gump

Fellowship Instructor

Dan Gump spent 37 years as a Food Inspector, Food Processing Specialist, Senior Food Inspector and Supervising Food Inspector for the New York State Department of Agriculture.  His duties included the performance of Food Safety Inspections at low-acid food manufacturers, acidified food manufacturers, high-hazard food manufacturers, HACCP inspections at Juice and Seafood manufacturers, retail food establishments, temporary food establishments, disaster response and emergency situations at food establishments.

Since retirement in 2012,   Dan has been active as an instructor for IFPTI, University of Tennessee and the Association of Food & Drug Officials in such classes as Basics of Inspection and Investigation, Specialized Processes at Retail, Emergency Response/Disaster Preparedness and Temporary Food Establishment Inspection.
