RLTS Resource Coordination Update
The Regulatory and Laboratory Training System (RLTS) partners are developing processes by which any training provider can submit learning resources to the National Coordination Center (NCC) to be included in an open marketplace for food safety training.
The NCC will serve as a clearinghouse for public and private training resources by managing a comprehensive platform for accessing, organizing, and sharing training resources from both public and private sources. The NCC will play a vital role in supporting the professional development and capacity-building efforts of the food safety workforce by being the coordinator or “gatekeeper” of the open marketplace.
A centralized online repository will be hosted by the NCC where public and private training resources are cataloged and easily accessible. This repository will include training materials, courses, exams, videos, publications, job aids, and other training resources sourced from government agencies, academic institutions, industry associations, and private training companies.
The NCC will curate and organize the training resources based on alignment with the competencies in the National Curriculum Standard (NCS). Currently, FDA courses are being put through this review process against quality and competency standards. Do you have training resources you’d like have included in the RLTS?
