Bob Custard is an environmental health professional with a passion for training and mentoring environmental health leaders both in the United States and the Developing World. In 2015, Bob founded Environmental Health Leadership Partners, LLC, an environmental health (EH) consultancy specializing in evaluation of local EH programs, EH program management, EH leadership development, and EH training. Bob is a frequent EH conference speaker and workshop leader on food safety, drinking water, EH complaint investigation, onsite sewage disposal, aquatic health, and EH program management. In 2010, Bob and his wife, Roz Custard, founded Global Environmental Health Partnerships, a non-profit dedicated to improving global health by building the capacity of environmental health professionals in the Developing World. Bob served on the Board of Directors of the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) for 14 years (2003-2017). He served as NEHA President in 2015-2016. He has also served as president of both the Virginia Environmental Health Association and the National Capital Area Environmental Health Association. Bob retired from the Virginia Department of Health in December, 2014, after 27 years of service as an Environmental Health Specialist, Environment Health Supervisor, District Environmental Health Manager, Regional Sanitarian, and State Coordinator of Environmental Health Training.
