Hazard Communication: GHS Safety Data Sheets
This course covers the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and their importance in communicating the hazards of chemicals in the workplace. Participants will learn how to read and understand the 16 sections of an SDS, including the 9 standard hazard pictograms used and their meanings. Participants will also learn about their employer's responsibilities for providing access to SDSs, designating responsible persons, and complying with regulations related to SDS provision.
Upon completing the course, participants will have a better understanding of the importance of SDSs in promoting safety and preventing accidents in workplaces that use hazardous chemicals. They will also be equipped with the knowledge to read and interpret SDSs to identify and respond to potential hazards.
