For more than ten years, IFPTI has played a central role in the development of the National Curriculum Standard for regulatory officials of human and animal food as part of the national Integrated Food Safety System. IFPTI-led activities have included the creation of competency-based curriculum frameworks; creating instructional design and development standards for FDA; Instructor Skills Training for government, academia, and industry instructors; online course development and delivery; the Fellowship for Food Protection Leadership Development Program for federal, state, local, tribal and territorial regulators (currently running the 10th cohort of Fellows); conversion of FDA courses to Virtual Instructor Led Training (vILT); and managing the business activities for the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance, a public-private partnership formed by FDA.
