Reconstructing Learning Experiences

Part 4

In-Person Instructor-Led Training (ILT)

Last month we discussed Live Remote Instructor Led Training, and how it can allow instructors to interact with a group, or multiple groups of learners who are gathered onsite, while the instructors themselves are at remote locations.

With in-person Instructor Led Training (ILT), the participants and instructors are all on-site together. In-person events has been the main format for training historically. By reconstructing training to ILT the emphasis would be on hands-on activities and table-top exercises. These types of exercises emphasize opportunities for experiential and interactive learning. This approach would allow these activities and exercises to be combined from multiple courses and resources.

Next month, we will discuss how field, or workplace training can be used to take full advantage of mentor-guided, real work experience training time.
